The word sacrifice is so easy to say and yet it means so much.
Even saying thank you for your sacrifice of time doesn’t begin to explain what that really means.
The sacrifice of time is not being able to be with your family, to watch your children grow, to be there when the car breaks down, to be there when someone is dying or has a long term illness.
Not having your own time means you can’t pursue the wants of your heart when you want to. The sacrifice of time when we all have so little of it.
A person who is willing to give a sacrifice of time, is a person of commitment. Someone of discipline. Someone who shows up no matter what.
Getting present to all of the sacrifices men and women in the service make is humbling to me. I am grateful.
Thank you for your service. Thank you for your commitment. Thank you for rising no matter the political climate. Thank you for standing strong no matter what faces you. Thank you for your strength, your resolve. Thank you for your sacrifices.
The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
Thank you for your service.
Honoring you on Veterans Day
